STEM

We aim to provide to our students stimulating and authentic learning experiences designed to promote the creation and implementation of effective STEAM education that results in global citizens who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement.”

We Know How to Make LearningĀ Fun For Kids

STEM is an approach to learning that integrates Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. Students experience real life problem-based learning opportunities to develop skills in creativity, teamwork, inquiry, initiative, communication, and digital literacy. The restraints are removed, and students become free thinkers and problem solvers.

We cover a range of skills for the jobs of the future! Inventing, coding, robotics, electronics, biological science, and chemistry are just some of the topics covered in STEM at Rosebud Primary School. We follow the science curriculum for Victorian schools, while incorporating digital and design technologies.

With our new STEM building, students have access to 3D printers, iPads, laptops and robotics. Our new sustainable garden caters for hands-on discoveries of environmental science, including growing vegetables, caring for animals, composting, native plants and even a frog pond.

Preps, Grade 1s and Grade 2s begin their scientific discoveries by questioning and predicting, while learning basic computing skills. Grades 3 and 4 participate in scientific experiments and start their coding skills to develop animations and computer games. In the senior school, Grades 5 and 6 often have a choice over their learning experiences. Whether it be coding, conducting experiences or problem solving to save the world!
